Irrelevant Film Thoughts

The only problem with The Town was that there wasn’t enough Jon Hamm.

Sorry HBO has a lot of good shit on today.

• Joss Whedon I praise you.
• Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark.
• Tony Stark is Robert Downey Jr.
• TONY STARK JOKES ARE ALWAYS FUNNY.
• Loki Jesus with the revenge you’re adopted (That was a great Joke byt the way Thor) calm the fuck down.
• Lokie Jesus with the creeper smiles.
• When he pops down to Earth and tells everyone to kneel I’m just like:
• Black Widow kicked ass. The fight scene with her and Hawkeye I was really good, even ammounts of blows were struck. Thank you Joss Whedon for not only making her kick-ass but also letting her take some hits. Equality.
• There is no way to not highlight Scarlett Johannson damn it. I mean really I was looking at her ass in that catsuit for Godssake.
• Alan Silvestri is not my all time favorite composer, I find his music to be almost too epic and over the top - however this IS The Avengers so, epic-ness was needed.
• Mewling quim aka whining cunt. And Loki said it to Black Widow. I shall now return to reading my Psalms of Joss the Whedon in the New Testament of Hollywood. Joss Whedon is a fantstic writer, only he could sneak the “C” word past the MPAA.
• I think I had a much better viewing experience of this movie because I saw all the fangirling GIFS on tumblr. I may or may not have laughed at parts that were not funny because of said GIFS.
• Stark + Banner. I like this bromance that is forming.
• Speaking of Banner, woah, hey thar Mark Ruffalo….when did you get so attractive? in all honesty though I loved his portrayal of Banner/Hulk, all of his movements and twitches and everything was perfection. Give them casting directors a raise.
• “Flying monkeys, I understood that reference” and when he handed Nick Fury the ten bucks - Cap. was good.
• By the way, I’ve said this about Thor and I’ll say it again about this film COSTUME PORN. Loki’s costume was amazing, I’m so happy both Thor & Avengers kept his horn helmet - it looked awesome. And Thor that red cape is so awesome, such a great red. You know who else had an amazing costume?
• Hawkeye.
• I knew he wasn’t going to be in the movie that much >_< BUT WHEN HE WAS:
• That’s pretty much how I ate my popcorn. Hi. Hello Jeremy Renner’s arms. I can’t really even contain my inner fangirl. Geeze.
• But seriously did you see the way he fought with his bow when he was out of arrows? Badass.
• No really though that outfit.
• Back to how awesome Whedon is, he has some awesome cinematographers and directors of photography working with him, I love the way the film was shot and the way it looked. Fantastic.
• All in all it did not disappoint, I wish Barton was in it more but you know, he’s not a main MAIN guy so -  get it.
• I laughed too hard during that scene. Good Lord.

Lucas Vidal. Google him. Oh wait I’ve done it for you. He is a film composer, most recently his works include the Edgar Allen Poe’s ‘The Raven’ and ‘The Cold Light of Day’, not only is his music amazing but he is one good looking guy. Composers are two things (generally speaking) 1) Men and 2) Not gorgeous, don’t get me wrong composing isn’t about looks - it’s about the music the composers can create another world and create a mood in a scene blah blah blah but let’s bring it back to what this post is really about my hormones. You know who else makes good music and is attactive? Ramin Djawadi. His music on ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Clash of the Titans’ - boy is talented.

Guys. Focus Features (A Universal Studios company) has bought the rights to ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’. Oh, yes, it will get graphic with no regrets. C’mon Focus Features, make like ‘Shame’ and go NC-17 on me.

Also - Fifty bucks says Marion Cotillard is the real Catwoman in the end anyways, oh Nolan you thought you had me  silly boy ;)

So, I am a bit late on this however - I have just seen the new photos of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle AKA Catwoman in Chris Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight Rises’ that have been released. Thus far I like her look, the mask and ears are like an homage to Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt’s 60’s era Catwoman via Batman the television series. I am never one to be against  superheroines in tight black bodysuits made of leather (Or in Kate Beckinsale’s case, black vinyl [Yeah, I bet that suit is comfy]) however…..THE GODDAMN HEELS. You cannot effectively kick ass in them. Or run for that matter.

 C’mon Nolan - Catwoman needs boots, I’m sure there are tons of costume designers who can make some flat made-for-running thigh high boots and make ‘em look sexy (assuming that is what you are worried about).

• Live within walking distance of a RedBox.
• Go through selection of films in said RedBox.
• In the mood for Romantic Comedy? Oh look Crazy, Stupid Love is avaliable.
• Still need to catch up on Oscar contenders? Oh look, Ides of March is a ‘New Release’.
• Drive will be avaliable as of January 31st? Fuck me I must be a Ryan Gosling fan.

• Anonymous costume nod! Please. Just please. Gorgeous costumes.
• Harry Potter nods, there is only three and they need to just all win okay? Because this is bullshit.
• Melissa McCarthy nod. If she doesn’t win all hope is lost.
• Any Midnight In Paris nod makes me happy.
• The Woody Allen & Martin Scorsese nods.
• GARY OLDMAN MUST WIN.

• So once again we’re snubbing great performances? (AND BY THAT I MEAN LEO DICAPRIO AND MICHAEL FASSBENDER).
• This is a personal peeve but really Academy? John Williams nodded twice for TinTin and War Horse?? Alexandre Desplat is Oscar gold damn it! How did Ides of March, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Tree of Life and fucking Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part II not get nominated? (In case you haven’t noticed, Academy, all of those films have been nominated this year.) UGH.
• HARRY POTTER SNUBS LEFT AND RIGHT OH MY GOD STOP ME NOW.
• Moneyball. Fuckin’ sports movies.(Boxing movies, however, are usually always good [I.E. The Fighter, Warrior, The Boxer etc])
• I’m not a huge fan of his but Jesus what is with all the Ryan Godling snubs? Drive, Crazy, Stupid Love & Ides of March??? Even I know when it’s time to fucking award someone….speaking of….
• Still pissed about Leo. You watch, he’ll get you good one day Academy, he’ll be in a film so good it will rack up Oscars like Return of the King did and watch he’ll probably snag Oscars for Best Director and Best Actor. I will wait for Leo’s revenge.
• No Bridesmaids Best Picture nod? I’m upset. People have said it’s because it isn’t that original as it stems from an idea like ‘The Hangover’, may I point out ‘War Horse’ is a male ‘Flicka’?
• Alright people if Martin Scorsese or Woody Allen doesn’t get an Oscar I might flip out. STOP TEASING THEM WITH THE DAMN NOMINATIONS AND JUST GIVE THEM ONE ALREADY, THEY DESERVE IT. Kinda like Meryl Streep. Just give her one.
